At the US – EU Trade and Technology Council in Lulea, Sweden, on May 31, 2023, both governments have agreed that there will be a common international standard for megawatt charging systems (MCS). This accord for a universal charging system will reduce manufacturing and deployment costs significantly.
“This agreement marks an important milestone in the development of a widespread network of charging stations for heavy-duty vehicles. A standardization of the megawatt charging system is critical for the fast rollout of charging stations and once available on a large scale MCS will revolutionize the transportation sector.”, argues Otto Werneskog, CEO and founder of Green Stop.
Megawatt charging will transform the heavy-duty mobility sector, enabling trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles to quick charge during their mandatory rest times. This cutting-edge solution will most likely be launched in 2024, with several pilots currently ongoing. Green Stop is eager to install MCS along important highways and roads.
